Archaeological Museum - Carlo Cicala

The history of ancient Privernum,
from the Volscian world to the Roman city.

In the historic center of Priverno, the Carlo Cicala Archaeological Museum houses one of the most important collections in the Pontine region. Statues, mosaics, inscriptions, ceramics, and artifacts tell the story of ancient Privernum, a city that was first Volscian and later Roman. The museum is housed in the historic Palazzo Valeriani-Guarini-Antonelli, which overlooks the town’s main square. Among the most striking works is the famous mosaic depicting a Nile landscape, a testament to the luxury and refinement of Roman domus.
